Claude F. Clayton, Jr. recently completed Harvard Negotiation Institute’s mediation course and now serves as a mediator/arbitrator in addition to his litigation practice.

Claude Clayton and Bill Davis are representing BNY Mellon, as trustee of a testamentary trust, in a claim to enforce an option agreement with a furniture manufacturer. This action is pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi.

Claude Clayton and Ray Hill are representing Prestage Farms, Inc. in a claim against Bryan Foods, Inc. for breach of contract related to payment for hogs purchased by Bryan Foods, Inc. This action is pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi.

Claude Clayton and Bill Davis are defending Oswalt and Son, Inc. Construction Company in a claim relating to a construction contract at a medical center. The county that owns the medical center and the architects and engineers are also defendants. This action is pending in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Mississippi.

David O’Donnell and Ray Hill recently obtained a judgment in favor of a governmental defendant in a civil rights case brought by Tyler Edmonds, whose murder conviction was overturned by the Mississippi Supreme Court in 2007. The case, which was filed in the Northern District of Mississippi, is Edmonds v. Oktibbeha County. This case is currently on appeal in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Marjorie O’Donnell was recently named to the Workers Compensation Advisory Board of the Mississippi Workers Compensation Commission, where she will serve as an advisor to the Full Commission on issues related to Commission procedures and practice.

Ray Hill recently obtained a $250,000 verdict against Commissioner Christopher Epps in the Northern District of Mississippi related to the wrongful confinement of a person at the Mississippi State Penitentiary in Parchman, Mississippi. This case, Porter v. Epps, is currently on appeal in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
